This is Dash, the female Red-breasted Nuthatch aka: Dashius Dona Maxima Sitta Canadensis. She has truly touched my life in a profound way, her story is one of grit, strength and grace. She has survived two winters after being attacked and nearly killed by a predator. This pic was taken a few days ago, after not seeing her for the entire winter, she’s still alive and is the embodiment of the term “tough ol’bird”.
