A family of six Trumpeter Swans was photographed this morning (January 25th) snoozing on the St Lawrence River’s ice. Periodically they would raise their heads like they did in this photo, then go back to sleeping. The temperature was minus 13 degrees Celsius. Trumpeter Swans have a distinctive large, long all-black bill and viewed from the side it is wedge shaped like a “V”.
