A “one on one” confrontation was photographed this morning (November 10th) between two male Mute Swans competing for supremacy. Both were hissing at each other, raising their wing feathers, and chest bumping as their heads and necks were elevated and intertwined at times. All ended well; interestingly the younger Mute Swan in the foreground was unconcerned and kept sleeping through the ordeal.
